Liquid-Gas Separations
Liquid droplets in gas streams are particularly susceptible to shear and shattering into aerosols, depending on the surface and physical properties of the liquid and gas streams. These liquid aerosols can affect downstream unit operations such as compressors, absorption columns, molecular sieves and other unit operations. The aerosols can have surface energies that span the spectrum, and be susceptible to thermodynamics and phase changes. Transcend Solutions has developed the capability to identify, measure and effectively separate the most penetrating aerosols from these gas streams, and manufactures products that enable these difficult separations.
Liquid-Liquid Separations
When two immiscible liquids are contacted, they can form stable physical emulsions. The separation of these physical emulsions requires effectively using the surface energies, densities and viscosities of the two liquids to allow the capture of the stable emulsified droplets, their growth to larger droplets and their separation from the bulk liquid phase. Transcend Solutions has developed the capability to effectively separate highly stable emulsions comprised of exceptionally small droplets in a system with specific gravity differences of less than 0.05, and manufactures these products.
Solid-Gas Separations
Particle removal from gas streams is a very challenging unit operation particularly in gas production, processing and transmission. These separations require the use of disposable elements in high pressure and large vessels. Transcend Solutions has developed technologies that can extend online life, improve operator interface and operability and reduce disposal costs. Ultimately effective particle removal improves the uptime of the various unit operations impacting throughput & profitability. Transcend manufactures products for these critical applications.
Solid-Liquid Separations
Particle removal from liquid streams is an essential unit operation. The effective removal of trace levels of tiny contaminants is very challenging. Often, these separations require the use of disposable devices. As a result, operator interface, online life, ease of operation, disposal of spent elements are all very important factors in the design of an effective separator. Most critical factor is the identification of the contaminant to be removed, and the development of the appropriate technology to remove those contaminants. Transcend Solutions has developed technologies that can extend online life, improve operator interface and operability and reduce disposal costs. Transcend manufactures products for these difficult solid/liquid separations.
